  • Miss Maggie: BFA in Dance, Mercyhurst College;  Erie, PA.   The founder and Director of the Mercyhurst College Conservatory of Dance, an original Member of “The Park Dance Company”,  a member of the “Dallas Metropolitan Ballet”, and the founder of Serova’s benefit for Multiple Sclerosis “Movin’ for MS”. Owner/Director, Serova School of Dance since ‘86. Teaches Baby Ballet, Pre-Ballet, Ballet & Tap, Ballet & Tumbling, Pointe and Adult Ballet.

  • Miss Leah: has been dancing for eighteen years. She received her training from Gotta Dance, Steps, New Jersey Center for the Performing Arts, and other various pre-professional dance workshops. After high school Leah pursued dancing, and shortly after was chosen to perform for Disney World as a parade and character performer. After completing her contract in Disney World, Leah auditioned as a performer for Disney Cruise Lines. She was chosen and set sail after two months of training at Disney’s dance studios in Toronto. Upon completion of her contract, Leah trained in Toronto at the Toronto School of Circus Arts for aerial performances in silks, trapeze, Spanish web, and cube. Leah is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise Science, and choreographs and teaches dance to children and teens as well as working as a performing arts coach. Leah is excited to pass on the magic by working with Serova School of Dance as an instructor.


  • Miss Marielle: is our very own home grown Serova S*T*A*R. Dancing since the age of 2 1/2, Marielle just lives for dance. Aside from dancing for 15 years with Serova in regional and national competitions and benefits for Multiple Sclerosis and recitals, Marielle now studies at Rutgers Mason Gross as a Dance Major with a Masters in Education and a second major in Business. Marielle lives to dance and share her love of dance. She has won numerous awards and scholarships to various programs including Joffrey Ballet NYC where she was offered an apprenctice-ship and Tony Bradford’s Summer Intensive in NYC. We welcome her with open arms as she ventures out in the world of dance.

  • Miss Stephanie: our very own home grown Serova S*T*A*R*, danced at our studio for 14 years before venturing off to college. She is currently an elementary education and dance major at Rider University. She has danced with Kutztown University’s dance club as well as Raritan Valley Community College’s dance department. At Rider University, as well as being a dance major, she dances with the Rider Dance Ensemble. Miss Stephanie’s warm approach to children and her love to teach can be seen as she conducts Hip Hop and Lyrical classes on Fridays at the studio!

  • Miss Brittany: started dancing at the age of 3. She has an Associate Fine Arts degree in Dance from Raritan Valley Community College. She received the excellence in dance award out of the whole department upon graduating. She also graduated Phi Theta Kappa. Brittany is also recognized for her achievements on the success wall at Raritan Valley Community College. Before Raritan Valley she attended and graduated from the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School in the honors gifted and talented dance program. Brittany is currently studying with Savion Glover at his school “The Hooferzclub” in Newark NJ. Here she takes class with Mr. Glover himself and deepens her connection to tap dance. Brittany looks forward to sharing her knowledge and love for dance with all the students!

  • Miss Maddie: is currently pursuing her BFA in dance as well as a master’s degree in education at Rutgers University. She performed for Broadway Dance Center’s youth company throughout high school, being given opportunities such as dancing on Good Morning America and at Gershwin Theater in New York. She has recently danced for Jay T Jenkins (the creator of “jazz funk”) and Doug Elkins (a Bessie Award winner), whose piece was showcased at “Rutgers in New York” at The Joyce Theater. Dance and teaching are both passions of hers, and she is thrilled to be joining the Serova Dance family. Miss Maddie will be teaching tap and hip hop on Tuesday and Fridays. Welcome Miss Maddie!

  • Miss Julie: began her dance training at a young age right here at Serova School of Dance. While in high school she also attended the Somerset County VoTech’s Gifted and Talented Performing Arts Program in Bridgewater. Julie received her BFA in Dance Performance from Ohio State University. Later she graduated from Seton Hall University with a MA in elementary education and proudly served the community of Westfield as a first grade teacher. Julie currently resides in Branchburg with her husband and two young daughters. She is very excited to be back “home” and is eagerly looking forward to sharing her passion for movement and the joy of dancing with the families of Serova.

  • Miss Chris: has been teaching dance for over 20 years (17 of them with us at Serova!). She graduated with a BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She received the Choreography Award from her university upon graduation. Some of her featured performance roles have included Cinderella in “Cinderella”, Louise in “Carousel”, The Queen of Hearts in “Alice in Wonderland, Lilac Fairy in “Sleeping Beauty”, and Lily in “Annie”. She has also performed in the dancing chorus in “Oliver”, “Kismet”, “Pippin”, “Evita”, “Snow White”, “Nutcracker”, and “Coppelia”. She also performed at both Sesame Place theme park and with Sesame Street Live International. She currently teaches Ballet, Modern, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, and Specialty Dances for Competition.

 

  • Miss Vida: Royal Academy of Dance-Ballet Cert., Imperial Society of Teachers-Modern Cert., 15 years at Serova. Teaches Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Specialty Dances and Adult Tap. Ms. Vida was recently in The National tour of “Smokey Joe’s  Café” & Sophisticated Ladies” (of which she was choreographer for). She has performed in NYC at the legendary “Copa Cabana” with The Shirelles, “Roseland Ballroom: with the Beach Boys & “Town Hall Theatre” with Paquito DiRivera. She has toured the US & Canadian Regional Theatre & Industrials working with renowned choreographers such as Frank Hatchett, JoJo Smith and Fred Benjamin of Alvin Ailey.

 

  • Miss Sarah: is a young and innovative teacher who studied under Viorica Gedo Stampfel—a former prima ballerina with the Romanian Ballet—at the Red Bank Dance Academy.  She went on to further her dance education at C.W. Post College, in Long Island.  She is dedicated to the art of teaching dance and is a compassionate teacher who warms the hearts of her students.  Teaches Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop. This will be Miss Sarah’s 7th year at Serova.

 

  • Sir Chux: Hip Hop—Known as “Chux” of the “INSPIRED! Dance Crew”-Chuck’s love of hip hop is apparent the minute he begins to dance or teach. He is a responsible, talented teacher who loves to share his love for hip hop with each and every student. Chuck is the founder of the “INSPIRED! Dance Crew” which is a crew that offers workshops and master classes in the area, as well as competes at the state and national level.

 

  • Miss Mary: is a home grown Serova S*T*A*R! Mary grew up in Branchburg and danced at Serova School of Dance! She went on to pursue a BFA in dance from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.  Mary graduated two years ago and danced with the“River Ballet” in North Jersey. She taught for the company as well.    She is also a Graduate of The Gifted and Talented Program at Somerset County Vocational and Technical School. This will be Miss Mary’s 5th year teaching at Serova.  Teaches Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical and Jazz
